Man has lived on the earth by several hundred thousand years but its is only a few thousands years back,man learned the art of writhing.The story of man's progress for which written's records are available are called history while the long,distant past records is called prehistoric era.the main sources of information about pre-historic man have been their tools and weapons, their paintings ,artifacts and fossils of men and animals.
PALAEOLITHIC AGE
The early period in man's development is known as the old stone age or Palaeolithic age. This was a very period, extending from 5 lakh years ago to the about 15,000 years ago. The man made small but significant improvements during the period.
MESOLITHIC AGE
During the mesolithic age or middle stone age, the speed of development was rather fast. Man learn to make a variety of fine tools. it was from about 10,000 B.C to 8,000 B.C
NEOLITHIC AGE
The era from 6,000 B.C to 4,000 B.C is called new stone age. The man changes from getting food to producing food. The weapon and tools become more sophisticated yet the basic material remained stone. Domestication of animal, weaving and pottery were learnt by the man. He started making permanent house which were made of wood, mu and had thatched roofs. the settlements were generally near the fields which the people cultivated. The invention of wheel also dates back to this age.
